A woman preparing a healthy snack of grapes got a brush with death this weekend when she discovered a fatally-poisonous black widow spider in the plastic carton.
Ariel Jackson, 25, of Troy, Michigan picked up the grapes from a Walmart Superstore for a barbecue at her sister's house and was washing them in a sink when she noticed an arachnid crawling around inside and freaked out.
'I’ve never seen one before in person and then here it is, "hi!"' she told WXYZ.
'She was screaming about a huge spider, and everyone was like, "Calm down, it's probably nothing,"' her boyfriend, 26-year-old Michael Frank said. 'But we took a closer look and lo-and-behold, it's a black widow. It had the red hourglass-shaped spot on its belly.'

Killed: Ariel Jackon had her brother and boyfriend kill the deadly spider by dousing it in bug spray
Not knowing what to do about the deadly-poisonous spider - and afraid it might escape and hurt her 1-year-old nephew who was in the house - Jackson called 911. However, emergency operators didn't offer much help.
'When I called them, I said "this isn’t really an emergency, but I have a black widow spider" and he’s like ‘"just kill it" and I’m like "me? You want me to kill it?"'
Luckily, Jackson didn't end up having to kill the spider herself, as her brother and boyfriend chivalrously stepped up to take out the bug.
Shocked: 'I’ve never seen one before in person and then here it is, "hi!"' Jackson told WXYZ of the terrifying experience
Jackson's brother doused the spider with bug spray and it eventually died. Shaken up by the incident, Jackson says she'll be taking a break from grapes for the time being.
Later, Jackson informed Wal-Mart of the black spider and they said they are looking into what may have led the spider to get into the packaging.
